MISSION

The mission of the Presbytery Resource Center is to provide a cost effective way for laypersons and clergy to use and share new resources for worship, mission and educational programming.

A professionally trained consultant is available to meet with individuals or groups at the Resource Center or at churches to assist in planning, training and exploring programming possibilities.

COST

There is no subscription fee for churches, clergy or members of the Presbytery of Long Island.   However, replacement fees are charged for resources which are lost or damaged while out on loan.

HOURS OF OPERATION

Located in the Presbytery office in Commack, NY, the Resource Center is generally open for self-service when the Presbytery office is open (September-June, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; July and August 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.).  However, it is advised that you call ahead to check availability, as the space is sometimes reserved for meetings or consultations.

The Associate for Congregational Resources, Marie Zupka-Ludder, is usually available between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, or evenings and weekends by appointment at the Presbytery Center or at your church.  You can contact her by phone at 631-499-7171 or e-mail at: resource@presbyteryofli.org

WHAT KINDS OF RESOURCES ARE AVAILABLE?

There are thousands of items available!  Print resources include books, curriculum, periodicals and church specialty catalogues.  Available audio visual resources incorportate CDs, CD roms, videos, audio cassettes, overhead projector, LCD projectores, a.v. screens and much more.  The collection also includes two indoor canvas labyrignths (32' and 18'), which can be reserved for loan.

Through the Presbytery Resource Center you can find links and leads to people and organizations you need for your ministry - guest speakers, workshop and retreat leaders, educator and youth leader networks; mission personnel, mission partnerships and more!

BORROWING POLICY

Print resources may be borrowed for one month; a.v. and other items may be borrowed for two weeks.  An extended loan may be arranged if the item is not currently reserved or needed by another church or individual.

Materials can be reserved by contacting the Resource Center. There is a Resource Center display at all stated meetings of the Presbytery where items can be picked up and dropped off.  Items can also be mailed or arrangements made for pick-up at the Center.
